The Volvo Ocean Race is the longest and toughest professional sporting event in the world. This year's race will make just one stop in the United States. Luckily for us, this stop will be in the sailing capital of the world, Newport, Rhode Island. The Newport racing village opens up on Tuesday, May 8th and will remain open until until the next leg starts on Sunday, May 20th. The In-Port Race will take place on Saturday, May 19th. Check back soon for special events planned at The Chanler in support of the big race.
