The Executive Chef
Executive Chef Thomas Duffy has a true passion for crafting seasonal and creative cuisine backed by an exceptional knowledge of how dishes are created. Duffy began his culinary career at the young age of 14 in a commercial kitchen, followed by years of experience in restaurants from Miami to New England. Duffy’s Expedition kitchen, including a specialty Bonnet Stove at The Spiced Pear, is fully open, promoting interaction with guests and allowing them to view his amazing work in the kitchen first hand. Duffy crafts delectable ever-changing menus using only the freshest local ingredients, challenging his entire kitchen staff to constantly push boundaries and engage in new culinary adventures.

The culinary team at Spiced Pear is comprised of a talented group of professionals who have a strong desire to thrive in the kitchen. Many choose to join the team due to Spiced Pear's strong reputation for teaching, and many are eager to work with our unique Bonnet stove- the perfect tool for classic French preparation. At Spiced Pear, we use only the best tools and equipment, along with the freshest, local, and often rare ingredients. Being that our cuisine is always prepared from scratch, younger staff members are given the opportunity to constantly challenge themselves and develop new skills, and with our staff rotating positions seasonally, they exercise all knowledge and perfect their own skills in every way. As a result, everyone in our kitchen is working toward reaching new goals while also working together to prepare some of New England's finest cuisine.
