Pairing the Past with Respect and Passion for Our Collective Desires

The Ethos Behind the Cooking at Cara

Like pages from a handwritten cookbook left from previous generations, we study, we learn, we cook. We rely on the past and our own global, culinary journeys to experience deep, rich histories with people, their traditions, and culture. We learn from them their intense love for indigenous food ingredients and way of cooking. The friendships we make are real and life lasting.

We bookmark, and bring that knowledge and relationships home to our own working ethos, joining New England’s freshest, local, and often rare ingredients to pass on to our Cara extended family of chefs, sous chefs, interns, artisans, fishermen, and foragers. Together we cook, we learn, we taste, and celebrate.

Our Cara story is complete when our collective desires for our passions for cooking are artfully shared and celebrated with our guests and we too, become friends. And then, we begin again.
