Step into the stories Newport rarely tells.
This summer, Scandals of Newport returns to the fire pit at The Chanler, where the conversation drifts beyond what’s written in guidebooks. Just beside the Cliff Walk, as the afternoon begins to soften, a different side of the city starts to surface, one shaped behind closed doors, in drawing rooms, along hidden paths, and in moments not meant to last.
On select Thursday and Friday afternoons at 3 PM and 4 PM, gather for an intimate fireside series led by Cultural Ambassador Jeffrey Clark. With a storyteller’s instinct and a deep knowledge of Newport’s past, Jeffrey shares the lesser-known accounts. The quiet indiscretions, the rivalries, the unexpected turns that unfolded just out of view.
These are not the stories most often told.
They’re the ones that stayed between a few, until now.
Join us by the fire for an afternoon where history lingers a little longer, and Newport reveals itself in a way few have heard before.
